Chest Rigs are a handy way to carry the tactical gear you need – and keep it within easy reach.
You can combine a chest rig with placards, mag pouches, IFAKs, and just about anything else that is MOLLE compatible.
The difference between a plate carrier and chest rig is that a chest rig won't hold ballistic plates.
Often used with a chest rig is a so-called battle belt or war belt.
This is a belt meant for load bearing – it usually has MOLLE or other methods to allow you to carry: mag pouches, holsters, knife sheathes, IFAK, and much more.
As such, it's like a “belt on steroids.”
A battle belt may work alone, or may require an inner rigger's belt or web belt.
We'll also discuss accessories that often go in combination with chest rigs and battle belts.
