Let’s look at the soon to be released Heritage Jump Boots from GORUCK.

With paratrooper ops in mind, the original Jump boots were designed in 1941 and were used by the 82nd Airborne Division. They were distinguished by their stiff toe caps and calf-length lacing and saw action in Sicily, Italy, France, Holland, Belgium, and Germany. Having the same motivation, GORUCK is bringing the Heritage Jump Boots produced on their supportive MACV-1 platform paired with the best materials, including the most rigid leather.

Here’s some of the styles we are going to look at:

Heritage Jump Boots – Overview

Remarkably tough and durable, the leather utilized on the Heritage Jump boot is among the highest quality available. It is superior full-grain leather that is Aniline Tanned (soft and supple) and obtained from exclusive select sources in Europe and Australia. It was chosen for its toughness (Full Grain), its beauty (Aniline tanning), and suppleness (broken in from day 1). The performance of the boot matters hugely on the EVA midsole and the outer rubber sole. Good thing the Heritage Jump Boot has a lightweight EVA midsole giving you no reason not to wear it on your adventures. The forefoot area is generous and allows your foot to breathe.

The extra space lessens the irritation when your feet brush against the linings of your boot. Spacer mesh is nice, but your boot gets heavier when it gets to the water, and it stays that way. To avoid that, GORUCK is proud to say that the Heritage Jump Boot doesn’t have spacer mesh. The dual-compound rubber outsole presents an all-around performance in any setting, including enhanced traction on wet and muddy terrain. The outsole also hugs the toes for understated security against hostile terrain or when doing push-ups. The forefoot rubber is formed for improved grip, while the heel area is developed for abrasion resistance and enhanced durability.

The Heritage Jump Boots have the ideal heel-to-toe drop of 13mm offset for rucking that decreases the pressure on your Achilles (and, by proxy, your ankle, knees, and hips). It also helps support a natural motion in an unnatural world of asphalt and artificial surfaces. Your feet are protected from sand and debris as this boot has drain holes that also ward off moisture using an old-fashioned technology that works. The injection-molded plastic heel counter secures your heel as the suede leather avoids friction that causes hotspots and sores. The custom insert utilizes a dense compression foam system that supports your whole foot from the heel to toe throughout your foot strike.
